Garrett is co-founder and lead strategist of People First Communications, a family business he launched with his wife (a fellow Coug) to amplify the impact of nonprofits addressing homelessness through people-centered storytelling and sustainable fundraising. Together, they have helped raise millions for life-changing missions across the country. Garrett’s Murrow College experience, including his role as Student Body Vice President and backpack journalism trips to Cuba and Guatemala, shaped him into the communicator and leader he is today. After graduating from WSU in 2018, he earned his master’s degree in Politics and Communication from the London School of Economics. He has since become a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and Project Management Professional (PMP). His journey proves that you can build a meaningful career centered on your values and making the world a better place, even if it means having the courage to forge your own path.
