Eric Johnson spent 39 years as a television news journalist. He started as a sportscaster and eventually switched to news, working in Boise, Spokane, Portland and then 31 years in Seattle at KOMO. He anchored the evening news at KOMO, produced several documentaries (including Seattle is Dying, which was seen upwards of 40-million times) and created a weekly feature called Eric’s Heroes that gave rise to a large following from every corner of the world.
He received more than 50 regional Emmy’s for his work, and seven National Edward R. Murrow Awards. He is a proud member of the Murrow Hall of Achievement, and was a recipient of the Alumni Achievement Award.
He believes strongly in the power of story telling, and prides himself on creating nuanced and layered stories, that can serve to remind us of what it is to be human.
