Murrow College Essay Competition Winners Announced
In honor of the 50th Annual Edward R. Murrow Symposium, The Murrow Standard: Built on Legacy. Defining the Future., Murrow College invited undergraduate students to submit original essays exploring either The Importance of a Free Press or The Importance and Legacy of Edward R. Murrow.
We are excited to announce the winners of this special commemorative essay competition. The first-place essay, which will be featured in the official 50th Anniversary commemorative newspaper, has been awarded a $500 scholarship for the Spring 2026 semester. The second-place recipient will receive a $250 scholarship.
Thank you to all the Murrow undergraduates who participated and shared thoughtful, compelling work in tribute to Murrow’s enduring impact on journalism and free expression.
