Sean is the main evening anchor at KHQ-TV and started with the company in 1992. He is an Emmy and Murrow award winning Anchor / Reporter. Sean has anchored several of the key stories in the past 3 decades that have shaped our region. From the Carlton Complex fire to the Vancouver Winter Olympics on location. A graduate of Eastern Washington University (’92), Sean Owsley began a broadcasting career as an intern on KHQ mornings in 1992. Sean and Ana co-anchored the #1 rated KHQ Saturday morning news for several years together. Outside the newsroom, Sean is a singer and guitarist for the band The Rising. Broadcasting runs in the family—his father, Gary, was Spokane’s top-rated DJ in the 1980s, while his mother, Erika, emigrated from Germany. Sean has known his wife, Sara, since 1984, and together they share a blended family of five children.
