Celia Wu

Celia has global experience spanning digital media, communications, and journalism. She received her MA from the Missouri School of Journalism. Her reporting on Substack focuses on local government accountability.

Celia works at the intersection of AI and media, providing expertise to improve models for a top AI lab. She is a contributing writer for Elseborn.ai, documenting the discoveries of digital minds in culture, science, and the human condition.

At Legitimate.net, she taught about the ethical use of AI in journalism. As an RJI Fellow, she created the first Chrome extension of a newsroom style guide. Her professional experience includes senior roles at Global Press, Vice Media, MSNBC, Microsoft (MSN), Turner Broadcasting, and STAR TV. She worked as a PIO in municipal government during COVID.

Celia serves as Co-Chair of the Asian American Journalists Association Style Guide Committee, and on the boards of InvestigateWest and Women Make Movies, and is a trustee for Hampshire College.
