Ann Curry

The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication is delighted to announce award-winning journalist Ann Curry will receive the Murrow Lifetime Achievement Award in Journalism and will deliver the keynote speech on Tuesday, April 5 at the 46th Murrow Symposium.

For over three decades, Ann Curry, an American journalist, photojournalist, and reporter, focused on human suffering in war zones and natural disasters.

The ceremony will be held in the CUB Senior Ballroom and streamed on our event platform.

Charlotte Friel Memorial Lecture

Andrea Castillo

Andrea Castillo is an award-winning federal immigration reporter for The Los Angeles Times. Castillo has reported from Venezuela, Columbia, Mexico and other locales. Castillo is a founding member of the Times’ Latino Caucus, which seeks to improve media coverage and newsroom representation for Latino communities.

Opening Keynote

Jamerika Haynes-Lewis

Jamerika Haynes-Lewis is a journalist and advocate for foster care children. She studied Communication at the Edward. R. Murrow College of Communication.

Currently, she is the reigning titleholder USA Ambassador Ms. 2021. She owns and operates Clever Jam Communications, a consulting firm offering strategic communications guidance, motivational speaking, and facilitation.
