2025 Hall of Achievement Inductees
Bruce Amundson
Bruce Amundson, a distinguished corporate communications professional, spent nearly four decades shaping media relations in the telecommunications and forest products industries. A graduate of WSU, Amundson worked with major organizations like Weyerhaeuser and played a crucial role in transforming Bellevue’s local newspaper into the state’s newest daily. His leadership continues through his service on the WSU Foundation and Murrow College advisory boards.
Paul Casey
Paul Casey, the CEO and founder of Casey Communications Inc., is a respected leader in marketing and public affairs. His experience ranges from founding his own firm to helping complete major projects like the Downtown Seattle Tunnel. Casey, a proud WSU graduate, also authored a book on self-employment and recently served as both a chairman and active member of the Murrow Professional Advisory Board.
Marty Dickinson
Marty Dickinson, a marketing executive and member of the WSU Board of Regents, has shaped the business and civic landscape of Spokane. With a career spanning 27 years, she has held key leadership roles in organizations such as Spokane Teachers Credit Union (STCU), Umpqua Bank, and the Spokane Regional Chamber of Commerce. As a graduate of WSU, her advocacy for Murrow College and her efforts in urban development and marketing have left a lasting impact on the community.
Scott Hallock
Founder and president of LikeMineDid Media, Scott Hallock has a long history in television production, including his work as co-creator and executive producer on the hit Syfy series Scare Tactics and NBC’s Howie Do It with Howie Mandel. A Murrow College graduate with a degree in broadcasting, Hallock has created and written numerous shows and worked as a staff writer for The New Mickey Mouse Club. His contributions to entertainment media have garnered national recognition.
Roberta Kelly
Roberta Kelly, professor emerita, worked for nearly five decades at WSU, including 35 years at the Murrow College, where she taught science writing, reporting, and coordinated and taught the College’s basic writing course. With a background in animal science, biology, veterinary science, and communication, Kelly played a pivotal role in shaping generations of communicators and communication instructors and garnered recognition for her dedication to students, as well as service to the academic community. She was also a member of the WSU President’s Teaching Academy and earned prestigious honors, including the WSU Assessment Leadership Award, Faculty Member of the Year Arete Award, and recognition as a WSU Faculty Mentor.
Bill Swartz
A veteran radio reporter and anchor, Bill Swartz has been a trusted voice in Seattle’s media landscape since the 1980s. Known for his work as a sports reporter and anchor, Swartz’s career includes notable contributions as a sideline reporter for Washington Huskies football and as a host for KOMO’s Thursday Night Dawg House. His passion for storytelling and sports journalism has earned him multiple accolades, including two Edward R. Murrow Regional Awards from the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA).

Every year, the Hall of Achievement at the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication honors and recognizes outstanding accomplishments of alumni and those impacting the Murrow community. The recognition encompasses Murrow alumni who have excelled in their fields, display community service, or contributed to Murrow College. Additionally, a service award acknowledges individuals who have significantly impacted the Murrow community.
