Currently, I am a communications professor at Yakima Valley College. A product of the Lower Yakima Valley, I graduated from Sunnyside High School and attended YVC before transferring to Washington State University. After graduating, I have served as a partner in education as a case manager, education advocate, mentor and director of student services and support programs in Washington state and Texas. I pursued my graduate degree at
St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and earned my MA in communication studies. Teaching at Yakima Valley College is a full circle moment and I love being part of my students’ academic journey as they are navigating through college, first jobs and career opportunities.
