Scott Hallock (’91) has carved out a niche in alternative entertainment as the creator, writer, and executive producer of the hit hidden camera show Scare Tactics, blending humor and horror movies to captivate audiences. 

A graduate of the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication, Hallock honed his storytelling skills as a writer, producer, and performer on 130 episodes of Live at Eight, a half-hour sketch comedy show that earned national acclaim and a college Emmy during his time at WSU.

Straight out of college, Hallock landed a role as a writer, producer, and performer for the nationally syndicated Roggin’s Heroes. He later worked as a staff writer for the Disney Channel’s New Mickey Mouse Club during the iconic era of stars like Keri Russell, Ryan Gosling, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, and Britney Spears.

Hallock’s impressive career includes producing six seasons and 119 episodes of Scare Tactics for Syfy, featuring stars like Tracy Morgan, Stephen Baldwin, and Shannen Doherty. He was also an executive producer and writer for NBC’s Betty White’s Off Their Rockers and Howie Do It (co-created with and starring Howie Mandel), showcasing his creative versatility.

In 2024, Hallock teamed up with Jordan Peele and his Monkeypaw Productions to write and executive produce an all-new season of Scare Tactics for the USA Network.

Hallock’s ability to connect with diverse audiences through innovative storytelling and fresh perspectives continues to define his celebrated career in entertainment media.
